Deportes Salvador Colom has been the leading distributor of sports equipment in Puerto Rico for over 65 years. When they approached us last year to work on their rebrand, our goal was to bring this staple image known to an entire generation into the Millenium, creating a lifestyle brand that spoke to a younger audience. 


Muuaaa’s team created a logo with a bold, statement typography and an icon that at simple glance resembles a tennis ball, but when examined closer actually reveals a monogram of the company’s name: DSC. The negative spaces of the monogram were used to create bold, geometric patterns which were later translated onto other brand assets. A bold selection of electric blue and shocking pink were added onto the black and white scheme selected for this brand to create a pop of color that differentiates their products on the shelf.

Art direction was also carefully curated for this brand to highlight the lifestyle aspect of the brand, and features action photography and a bold text overlay that highlights sports equipment and activewear. A black and white effect is also included for some specific uses, however detailed action photos hit the brand’s art direction out of the park.
